On Mother’s Day, forget the pricey lunches, noisy brunches, cards, perfumes, chocolates, and flowers; today is my time.
Today, I am proud to have participated in the Western Massachusetts Mother’s Day run to benefit the Cancer Connection.
The event was a bit far but worth the drive. The start of the race was in Deerfield, MA.
Cancer Connection’s mission is to provide a haven where people with cancer and their loved ones can learn how to navigate the complicated cancer journey.
Runners had a choice of running 9 miles or 13 miles. I chose to run the 9-mile race.
The weather was ideal, and the course was very scenic.
Almost every runner was there to have fun, no matter how fast we ran.
There were approximately 1000 runners.
The event today raised a lot of funds for the cancer connection.
I had a great day. I am so glad I participated.
I arrived back in Swampscott in the afternoon, showered, grabbed a few snacks, and then exercised my four crazy dogs.
Later in the evening, my kids and their family visited.
We all had delicious pizza for dinner.
Great Day!
